The Boca Ciega Pirates and the Parrish Community Bulls squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but sadly the Boca Ciega Pirates had to settle for second. They took a 58-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulls.
When it comes to explaining why Boca Ciega lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jordan Naylor. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points. Kaleb Oriol was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Parrish Community found their leader in underclassman Malakai Cuffy, who scored 20 points along with five steals. Cuffy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Fetterman, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Boca Ciega has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season. As for Parrish Community, their win bumped their record up to 16-8.
Boca Ciega does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Parrish Community, they will face off against Braden River at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Braden River focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Thursday.
