The Forrest County Agricultural Aggies waltzed into their contest Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. It was close, but they capped 2023 with a 50-48 win over East Marion.
East Marion's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caden Mingo, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Donny Anderson, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Forrest County Agricultural's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for East Marion, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Forrest County Agricultural will head out on the road to face off against Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Columbia is ranked 170th, while Forrest County Agricultural is ranked 177th). As for East Marion, they will be playing at home against Resurrection Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
