It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the East Central Trojans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 47-0 victory over Greenwood. The win was just business as usual for East Central, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.
It was another big night for Josh Ringer, who rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also caught a touchdown. Ringer is absolutely dominating the rushing yard category: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Maxwell, who rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown.
East Central pushed their record up to 13-0 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 41.56 points. As for Greenwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
East Central will head out on the road to face off against Evansville Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Evansville Memorial will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 46th, while East Central is ranked fourth). Greenwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
