Can't Touch This
Dorman got a 28 - 21 win over Hillcrest last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Thomas Morgan. Morgan earned one touchdown and 217 yards rushing the ball. In fact, our algorithms singled out Morgan as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
Movin on Up
It was onward and upward for Chester this week as the team hoisted itself up 12 places in the power rankings -- the largest rise of the week -- after their most recent game. It breezed past Lancaster with a final score of 41 - 20. Chester especially relied on senior Pha'leak Brown, who ran for 84 yards and also punched in one touchdown, and freshman Zan'Jerry Dunham, who rushed for 71 yards and one touchdown.
Game of Inches
Even if it wasn't quite the margin the team was expecting, South Pointe's contest against Greenville still finished up like the MaxPreps state rankings predicted. South Pointe can thank its lucky stars for its win over Greenville. The final score was a hard-fought 28 - 27. The outcome was a definite jolt of excitement for South Pointe after its previous game, where the margin was anything but close. The razor-thin margin made this game the most thrilling one of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Gaffney (7th in the power rankings) and Byrnes (4th). Both teams are rolling into the game after last-week wins. Only one team will win this week, so we'll see which team fails to repeat its success.
