Softball Recap: Ellsworth's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After flying high against St. Croix Central last Tuesday, Ellsworth came back down to earth. The Panthers took a 16-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Baldwin-Woodville Blackhawks on Tuesday. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Aubrey Bauer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. Delaney Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Ellsworth's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-2. As for Baldwin-Woodville, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

While Ellsworth had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
