After two games on the road, Dutch Fork is heading back home. They will take on the Aiken Fighting Green Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Dutch Fork focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
Dutch Fork struggled with threes on Tuesday (A.C. Flora had 500% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Dutch Fork fell 60-50 to A.C. Flora. The loss was Dutch Fork's first of the season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Trinity Crumlin, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 17 rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Christyonna Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Aiken had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 50-32 victory over White Knoll.
Their wins bumped Dutch Fork to 4-1 and A.C. Flora to 5-1.
Dutch Fork came out on top in a nail-biter against Aiken in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, sneaking past 51-48. Does Dutch Fork have another victory up their sleeve, or will Aiken turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
