The Punahou Buff n' Blue had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They blew past Nanakuli 60-39. The result was nothing new for Punahou, who have now won three contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Punahou's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayndra N Uperesa-Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. Another player making a difference was James Taras, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds.
Punahou's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Nanakuli, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Punahou won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Kamehameha Hawai'i at 8:00 p.m. on December 8th. As for Nanakuli, they will take on Mid-Pacific Institute at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday.
