The SkyView Academy Hawks struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Woodland Park Panthers had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. SkyView Academy was the victim of a tough 45-20 defeat at the hands of Woodland Park. SkyView Academy lost against Woodland Park in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 50-42 score last time.
Despite the loss, SkyView Academy had strong showings from Avenly Lewis, who scored six points, and Reagan Martin, who scored six points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lewis has scored all season.
Leading Woodland Park to victory were Brenna Larsen and Emma Larsen. Larsen scored 13 points along with four steals, while Larsen dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Larsen has scored at least 25% of Woodland Park's points. Kai Kattil was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
SkyView Academy's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1. As for Woodland Park, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.
SkyView Academy will be playing at home against Bruce Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bruce Randolph is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Woodland Park's road trip will continue as they head out to face Rye at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. Rye has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
