Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Centennial). Everything went their way against The Meadows School Mustangs on Thursday as Centennial made off with a 17-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Tyler Osburn looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. What's more, he gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had since back in February.
At the plate, Kobe Peterson and Ryan Flores did most of the damage at the plate: Peterson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and one double, while Flores went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Flores has posted over his last eight contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Kono, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
Centennial hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The Meadows School struck out nine times.
Centennial has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
