This season hasn't been kind to the Walnut Hills Eagles, who are still winless after their fifth game. They took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kings on Friday. While losing is never fun, Walnut Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 736th, while Kings is ranked 307th).
Walnut Hills' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlie Stoffregen, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Emmitt King, who scored 14 points.
Walnut Hills bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Kings, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.
Walnut Hills will be home for the holidays to greet West Clermont at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully West Clermont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday. Kings will take on DeSales in a holiday battle at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday at. DeSales is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
