Riverview and Brandon are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Riverview Sharks will be taking part in a tournament against the Brandon Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Riverview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Riverview proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Tampa Bay Tech 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won five in a row.
Parker Burt tossed a big game, striking out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Jan Carlos Rodriguez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Justin Edwards, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.
Riverview hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Brandon got themselves on the board against Spoto on Tuesday, but Spoto never followed suit. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Spartans. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Spartans on their field since April 11, 2022.
Brandon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Edwards, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Brandon has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 8.25 strikeouts in those games compared to only 3.91 in the others. The win got Riverview back to even at 8-8.
Brandon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverview has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. It's a different story for Brandon, though, as they've only averaged .337. Will they be able to contain Riverview's hitters?
