The Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves will square off against the Peninsula Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
On Wednesday, Wiseburn- Da Vinci came up short against Mira Costa and fell 11-7.
Wiseburn- Da Vinci saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lelina Hoffman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Vanessa Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Peninsula sidestepped King/Drew for a 6-4 win.
Peninsula also got a great performance from Angel Wang as she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit.
At the plate, Emily Gonzalez was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hailey Lang, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Peninsula was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.
Wiseburn- Da Vinci dropped their record down to 7-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Peninsula, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.
Peninsula's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wiseburn- Da Vinci hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. It's a different story for Peninsula, though, as they've only averaged .236. Will they be able to contain Wiseburn- Da Vinci's hitters?
