The Sequoia Pathway Academy Pumas's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Horizon Honors 43-4. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sequoia Pathway Academy has scored all season.
Leading Horizon Honors to victory were Audriana Anglada and Keira Bertagna. Anglada scored seven points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Bertagna scored 11 points. Anglada hasn't dropped below three steals for four straight games. Josie Barden was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three steals.
Sequoia Pathway Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for Horizon Honors, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sequoia Pathway Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Tempe Prep at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. Tempe Prep is on a four-game streak of home losses, Sequoia Pathway Academy a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for Horizon Honors, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Augustine Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Augustine Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
