Mooreland have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will challenge Merritt on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps state rankings project a close game.
Mooreland gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener two weeks ago. They skirted past Cordell 8-6. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.
Last Friday, Merritt were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap, as they fell 16-20 to Hooker.
Mooreland's win lifted them to 1-0 while Merritt's defeat dropped them down to 1-1. We'll see if Mooreland's success rolls on or if Merritt are able to steal their positive momentum.
