The Portageville Bulldogs typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Charleston Bluejays proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Bulldogs 65-42. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Charleston had established a 20 point advantage.
Ko'terrion Owens was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachyran Thomas, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
The win got Charleston back to even at 12-12. As for Portageville, their loss dropped their record down to 15-7.
Charleston will be playing at home against Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Charleston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. As for Portageville, they will head out on the road to face off against East Prairie at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
