Even though the Sweeny Bulldogs scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, the Tuloso-Midway Warriors still came out on top. Tuloso-Midway was the clear victor by a 82-60 margin over Sweeny. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Tuloso-Midway also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2016.
Sweeny's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Clinton Varner, who scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds. The match was Varner's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Warrick Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Tuloso-Midway's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Sweeny, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.
Tuloso-Midway will be playing in front of their home fans against Rockport-Fulton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sweeny's road trip will continue as they head out to face Calhoun at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th. Calhoun is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
