Given Heritage's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Strong Rock Christian is ranked 131st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sam Mead continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with seven rebounds. The match was his 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Robert bolinger, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Strong Rock Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Asa Shearer, who scored 11 points. The contest was Shearer's third in a row with at least ten points. Zack Phillips was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Strong Rock Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Heritage's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. As for Strong Rock Christian, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will take on Creekside Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Strong Rock Christian, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Grace Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th.
