Reagan have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will challenge South Miami on the road at 3:30 PM on Thursday. Reagan are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the contest prepared for a fight.
If Reagan were riding high off their 28-0 takedown of Westland Hialeah three weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Reagan fell to Mourning 47-54. Yes, you read that final score correctly. Yes, this was football.
Meanwhile, South Miami might be getting used to good results now that the squad has four wins in a row. They were fully in charge last Thursday, breezing past Sunset 44-6. Followers of South Miami probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected five blowout victories.
South Miami's win lifted them to 5-2 while Reagan's defeat dropped them down to 2-6. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, it will be interesting to see how far up these teams can run up the score.
