While losing is never fun, Hays can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 645th, while Wagner is ranked 137th).

Hays' defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Wagner, the victory was the fourth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Hays will head out on the road to face off against Smithson Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Smithson Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Hays likes a good challenge.
