Even though the Belleville West Maroons scored an imposing 61 points on Saturday, the Bradley-Bourbonnais Boilermakers still came out on top. In a tight match that could have gone either way, Bradley-Bourbonnais made off with a 62-61 win over Belleville West. The win made it back-to-back wins for Bradley-Bourbonnais.
Several Maroons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Myles Liddell, who scored 18 points along with five assists. Liddell scored a full 29.5% of Belleville West's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Scott, who scored 17 points along with six assists and three steals.
Bradley-Bourbonnais has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Belleville West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bradley-Bourbonnais will face off against Stagg at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Belleville West, they will head out on the road to face off against Edwardsville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Edwardsville will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
