On Tuesday, Durango made easy work of Pagosa Springs and carried off a 3-0 victory. The Demons haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Durango not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Pagosa Springs between 18 and 21 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-21, 25-19.
Fruita Monument won the last time they faced Grand Junction Central and Dana Conklin did her part to make sure it happened again. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Warriors on Thursday for which the team can thank Conklin, who had 17 digs and one assist. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 16 or more in each of the last three games she's played.
While Fruita Monument won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-23, 25-21.
Fruita Monument's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Durango, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Durango has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Fruita Monument struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
