Despite the loss, Sebring got top-tier performance from David Allen, who went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc on his way to 27 points. Those 27 points gave Allen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Toney, who posted nine points and six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Sebring was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Discovery earned a 76-64 victory over Davenport on Tuesday. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Broncos are ranked 270th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sebring better keep an eye on Darius Livingston. He was instrumental in Discovery's win, going 7 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 29 points along with five assists and four steals. Livingston has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Redding, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points in addition to five boards and three steals.
Sebring has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Discovery, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Thursday's match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Allen and Livingston. Allen has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 15.6 points and 1.5 assists. For his part, Livingston has averaged 16.9 points, 2 steals, and 2.2 assists.
