After four games on the road, Cloudland is heading back home. They will take on the Unaka Rangers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cloudland's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
In what's become a running theme this season, Cloudland gave their fans yet another huge victory on January 8th. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 70-23 victory over Mitchell. Given Cloudland's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 92nd in Tennessee, while Mitchell is ranked 317th in North Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Unaka fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Cosby by a score of 49-41 on Tuesday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Unaka to victory, but perhaps none more so than Haley Taylor, who scored ten points along with six assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Taylor, who scored eight points.
Cloudland pushed their record up to 10-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Unaka, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14.
Everything came up roses for Cloudland against Unaka when the teams last played on January 5th as the squad secured a 59-24 win. Does Cloudland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Unaka turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
