The South Williamsport Mountaineers were the 50-45 winner over the Muncy Indians when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. South Williamsport was dealt a 66-20 loss at the hands of Muncy on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points South Williamsport has scored all season.
Noah Confer was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals for Muncy. That makes it four consecutive games in which Confer has scored at least 25% of Muncy's points. Patrick Zalonis was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
South Williamsport's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-6. As for Muncy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.
South Williamsport will head out on the road to face off against Neumann Regional Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Muncy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech at 7:30 p.m.
