Colonial's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carmen Richardson, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Jasmine Bocca was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Ocoee lost, one person who can't be blamed is Micah Hannah. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with three steals. Hannah is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Paris Triplett, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Ocoee struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Colonial racked up 11 assists.
Colonial's victory was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.57 points. As for Ocoee, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-4.
Colonial won't have much time to rest: their next match is against St. Thomas Aquinas at 4:00 p.m. on January 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (St. Thomas Aquinas is ranked sixth, while Colonial is ranked fourth). As for Ocoee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Edgewater at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
