Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Phillips). They put the hurt on the Hubbard Greyhounds with a sharp 23-5 victory on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Makayla Dekeyser was incredible, firing off two home runs, three stolen bases, and seven RBI while going 3-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kayla Nolan, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with seven stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Phillips' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hubbard, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2-1.
