Basketball Recap: Lake Lure Classical Academy Victorious

Veritas Christian Academy came into Tuesday's matchup looking for another win against Lake Lure Classical Academy, but D Watkins wouldn't allow it. The Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptors snuck past the Veritas Christian Academy Warriors with a 52-47 win on Tuesday thanks in part to Watkins, who posted 30 points along with six boards and five assists. His evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Redmon, who had eight points. Redmon is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Veritas Christian Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lee Burgess, who earned 14 points and three steals, and Eli Robbins, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards.

Lake Lure Classical Academy's record is now 6-3. As for Veritas Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Lure Classical Academy will face off against Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Lure Classical Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.4 points per game this season. As for Veritas Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Shelby at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
