The Magruder Colonels entered their tilt with the Rockville Rams with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Magruder simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Rams 61-33 on the road. Given Magruder's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Rams are ranked 253rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Magruder to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aiden Dabbondanza, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Gerald Suarez was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Magruder's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Rockville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.
Magruder will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Rockets at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Richard Montgomery's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Rockville, they will face off against the Wolverines at TBD on Monday. Watkins Mill and the Rams are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
