Derby's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dallas Metzger, who scored 14 points. The match was Metzger's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kaden Franklin, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, South struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The win got Derby back to even at 2-2. As for South, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Derby will challenge Maize South at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Maize South will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for South, they will head out on the road to face off against Maize on Tuesday. Maize is on a three-game streak of home losses, South a 13-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
