The Midland Trail Patriots won the last time they faced the Independence Patriots, and things went their way on Friday too. Midland Trail took down Independence 71-54. The win made it back-to-back wins for Midland Trail.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Midland Trail to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaden Gladwell, who scored 15 points along with three blocks and two steals. That's the first time this season that Gladwell posted two or more blocks. Justin Cooper was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Midland Trail's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Independence, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Midland Trail will take on Pocahontas County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pocahontas County comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Independence, they will head out on the road to face off against Summers County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Summers County is ranked 78th, while Independence is ranked 100th).
