Harrison has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Monday. They will face off against the Liberty Lancers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Harrison humbled Mitchell with a 41-13 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-4.
Harrison's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nadia Turnipseed led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on 9 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 steals. Another player making a difference was Nyleen Brown, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Liberty had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 63-37 margin over Discovery Canyon. The victory was just what Liberty needed coming off of a 67-32 defeat in their prior match.
Liberty got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacie Bunck out in front who scored 22 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bunck has scored at least 25% of Liberty's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Samira Gantt, who scored 16 points.
The win got Harrison back to even at 1-1. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Harrison took a serious blow against Liberty in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 75-22. Thankfully for Harrison, Jacy Rohr (who scored 20 points along with 8 steals and 5 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
