The Woodland Regional Hawks pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 71-58 to Wilby. Woodland Regional has not had much luck with Wilby recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dean Accetura, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of John Napiello, who scored 14 points.
Woodland Regional's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Wilby, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodland Regional will take on Oxford at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wilby, they will be playing at home against Derby at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wilby knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 17 contests -- so hopefully Derby likes a good challenge.
