After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Walsh Jesuit, The Lake Catholic Cougars were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 42-14 victory over Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin at home. The result was nothing new for Lake Catholic, who have now won three contests by 27 points or more so far this season.
Josh Styles continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 178 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 80 receiving yards. Styles is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Frankie Trinetti was another key contributor, throwing for 160 yards and two touchdowns.
Lake Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
Lake Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Field at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Field will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 440th, while Lake Catholic is ranked 96th). Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
