The Holdrege Dusters will take on the York Dukes at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Holdrege was handed a six-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They skirted past Centennial 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Dusters as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kegan Steinke
Kegan Steinke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 15 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Holdrege is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-9 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Holdrege's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lyndon Rodewald, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. That's the most hits Rodewald has posted since back in March. Conner Tilson was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but York ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out St. Paul/Palmer 2-1.
York also let their pitcher toss all eight innings and he was also dialed-in: Kain Combs gave up only one earned run on six hits. Combs has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Gartner, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
York now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Holdrege, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 6-10.
Holdrege might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from York in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Dusters have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
