After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Whittier Christian, Heritage Christian was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Golden Valley Grizzlies as they made off with a 14-4 win. Considering the Warriors have won six contests by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Brooklyn Mireles spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Heritage Christian got a massive performance out of Tatum Tassio, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Tassio a new career-high. Erika Laufer was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
With the victory, Heritage Christian broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-4. As for Golden Valley, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11.
