Cuero has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the John F. Kennedy Rockets at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Cuero had to suffer through a rough 70-38 loss at the hands of the Bears. While losing is never fun, Cuero can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1003rd, while the Bears are ranked 296th).
Meanwhile, John F. Kennedy didn't have too much trouble with the Buffaloes on the road on Tuesday as they won 56-38. John F. Kennedy pushed the score to 46-26 by the end of the third, a deficit the Buffaloes cut but never quite recovered from.
Cuero has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for John F. Kennedy, they now have a winning record of 17-16.
Things could have been worse for Cuero, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-37 loss to the Rockets in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of John F. Kennedy's Jaylon Hudson, who scored 18 points. Now that Cuero knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time?
