Dylan Howard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing Four bases. while going 4-for-4. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past Valley 17-1 on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their two-run performance the game before.
Camryn Reyes made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Telisha Sayles, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Mater Academy East Las Vegas is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. The victory got The Meadows School back to even at 4-4.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. The Meadows School has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .570. However, it's not like Mater Academy East Las Vegas struggles in that department as they've averaged .475. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
The Meadows School might still be hurting after the 16-4 defeat they got from Mater Academy East Las Vegas when the teams last played on Thursday. Can The Meadows School avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
