Greenville H and Asheville T are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Hurricanes will host the Trailblazers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Greenville H is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
Last Thursday, Greenville H came up short against St. Joseph's Catholic and fell 12-7.

Killian Budlong and Owen Giles did some serious damage despite the final result: Budlong scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Giles went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Budlong is becoming a predictor of Greenville H's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 4-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was James Blackburn, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Asheville T). Everything went their way against Asheville School (Independent) on Tuesday as they made off with a 21-11 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trailblazers, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Jack Kinavy-Roesberry made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sterling Haynes, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Winston Bauer-Wolf was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Asheville T kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Asheville T is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Greenville H, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Saturday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Greenville H has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. However, it's not like Asheville T struggles in that department as they've averaged .482. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Greenville H couldn't quite finish off Asheville T in their previous meeting back in May of 2019 and fell 7-5. Will the Hurricanes have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
