The Vineland Fighting Clan will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Penns Grove Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Vineland, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 70-53 loss to Millville.
Meanwhile, Penns Grove came up short against Cherokee on Saturday and fell 45-38. Penns Grove has not had much luck with Cherokee recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Giomar Conrad, who scored ten points. He scored a full 26.3% of Penns Grove's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ka'Ron Ceaser, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Vineland's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Penns Grove, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Vineland ended up a good deal behind Penns Grove in their previous matchup back in February of 2016, losing 74-57. Can Vineland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
