Brayden Campbell and Landon Miller made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Campbell struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Miller tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Campbell also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Wynford is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise. At the plate, Campbell went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Miller went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases and four runs. Those four runs gave Miller a new career-high.
In other batting news, Wynford got a massive performance out of Drew Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave Johnson a new career-high. Reed Johnson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Wynford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bucyrus only posted an OBP of .118.
Bucyrus is on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12. As for Wynford, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
Wynford's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's match. The Royals have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Bucyrus, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Wynford continue to outrun the ball?
