The Lamar Silver Foxes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Green Sea Floyds 38-32. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lamar of the 46-37 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Green Sea Floyds' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Janyrah Mccleod led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Mccleod scored 15 or more points. Shantavia Hilliard was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five steals.
Green Sea Floyds' lineup was just a bit different on Wednesday as Mccleod got a bit more time on the court (31 vs. her season average of 13.18). Mccleod made the most of the opportunity, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
Lamar has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Green Sea Floyds, their win bumped their record up to 9-14.
