The Woodson Warriors are ranked highly in their home state, and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the St. Georges Tech Hawks. Woodson took a serious blow against St. Georges Tech, falling 82-25. Woodson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-15.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Georges Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emory Womack, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Womack grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Blair Thomas, who scored 23 points.
Woodson's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for St. Georges Tech, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Woodson will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Bard at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Bard focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Tuesday. St. Georges Tech won't have much time to rest: their next match is against St. John's Catholic Prep at 10:00 a.m. on December 29th. St. John's Catholic Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 142nd in Maryland, while St. Georges Tech is ranked 18th in Delaware).
