The Boyd County Spartans can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 44-27 victory over Twin Loup. That 17 point margin sets a new team best for Boyd County this season.
Boyd County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paige Drueke, who scored seven points along with 14 rebounds and three steals. Lanie Lechtenberg was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Boyd County's win bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Twin Loup, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
Boyd County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against St. Mary's at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. St. Mary's will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Boyd County surely won't give up without a fight. Twin Loup does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
