Baseball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Tularosa's 14th in Last 16 Outings

It was a proper cat-fight when Tularosa took on Hot Springs on Saturday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 12-0 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Danner Daugherty made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. Daugherty was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hunter Sewell, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Cameron Holguin, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Tularosa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Tularosa is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Hot Springs, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16-1.

As of now, neither Tularosa nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
