After a string of three wins, the Colleton County Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of James Island by a score of 57-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mykeem Gant, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Gant has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nick Williams, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Colleton County's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-8. As for James Island, they pushed their record up to 12-10 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
