Clint is 1-7 against Canutillo since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lions will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 12:00 p.m. Clint is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Clint was able to grind out a solid victory over Pecos, taking the game 5-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Zach Escobar was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Clint: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 5-6-1 otherwise. Escobar was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Clint let Nomar Maldonado and Miguelangel Rivas run wild. Maldonado went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Rivas went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Oscar Maldonado, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Canutillo sidestepped AZ Compass Prep for a 10-8 win.
Matthew Looney was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Acosta, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Canutillo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Canutillo's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Clint, they now have a winning record of 8-7-1.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Clint hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. However, it's not like Canutillo struggles in that department as they've averaged .335. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
