Northern Lakes recap November 5, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Springfield, who took down 258th ranked Anthony Wayne, 37-14.
Fans got a thrill when Jordan Spellis and Brian Autry connected against Perrysburg. The longest such play in Northern Lakes this season, the connection resulted in 75 yards.
The Yellowjackets' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Gus Dimmerling threw for 263 and 2 touchdowns and Scott Freeman had 113 yards receiving. On the ground Dimmerling contributed 217 yards. Matthew Kaczinski helped Perrysburg's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 83 yards.
He was 14-20 with 1 interception.
Dimmerling was a force in the backfield as Perrysburg topped Maumee.
Freeman was the best wideout in the league this week as Matt Kregel's team beat the Panthers. Freeman tallied 4 receptions for 113 yards. Kaczinski helped Perrysburg's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 83 yards.
Napoleon's Bryant Schlade needs only 15 yards against Perkins next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 186 carries Schlade has accumulated 985 yard this year.
The Blue Devils moved up to 306 from 347 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Springfield was able to move up by defeating the Generals 37-14.
