After a string of nine wins, the Martin Luther King Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were dealt a 60-18 loss at the hands of Imhotep Charter. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Martin Luther King in their matchups with Imhotep Charter: they've now lost six in a row.
Jabree Wallace- Coleman went supernova for Imhotep Charter, rushing for 243 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, and also picking up 33 receiving yards. Wallace- Coleman is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. Syeer Coleman was another major influence, as he rushed for 50 yards and ran in a TD.
Martin Luther King's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Imhotep Charter, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Martin Luther King will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Olney at 10:00 a.m. on November 23rd. Olney comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Imhotep Charter, they will square off against Roman Catholic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Roman Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
