The Parsippany Redhawks gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They secured a 58-54 W over Boonton. That's another feather in the cap for Parsippany, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Parsippany's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Arthur Smith, who scored 23 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Niedermaier, who scored 19 points along with five steals.
Parsippany's victory was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.33 points across that stretch. As for Boonton, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Parsippany will head out on the road to face off against Dover at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Boonton will be home for the holidays to greet Parsippany Hills at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
