The Brush Beetdiggers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Frontier Academy at home to the tune of 62-24. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Brush as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Brush got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Karime Castillo out in front who scored ten points along with eight steals and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Becker, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Despite the defeat, Frontier Academy saw an underclassman step up: Emily Gesick scored ten points along with three steals.
Brush's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Frontier Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.
Brush will be playing in front of their home fans against Resurrection Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Resurrection Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Frontier Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Strasburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Strasburg is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
